The purpose of the project
The purpose of the project was to improve in-field sales managers efficiency by providing them with a digital products catalog that would allow them to find necessary equipment quickly as well as run side-by-side comparison for their clients.

Project goals

Build mobile friendly web application  - product catalog with extended, narrow down filters to allow quick navigation by multiple criteria and conduct detailed side-by-side comparison.

Key challenge
Clients wanted to have a possibility to update products catalog from the spreadsheet, manage filterable columns as well as be able to use it with low/no internet connection locations.

Our solutions
Instead of implementing database and data import we decided to reduce a scope and read data directly from Excel file and cache it on backend, so system administrrator just needs to upload the latest version of product catalog in a predefined format. Filterable columns were also defined in Excel file.
Additionally Angular allowed us to implmeent offine mode utilizing Service Worker, so users could use the app without internet connection.

The app allowed in-field sales managers to prepare offers faster, infront of their clients, providing them with the best suitable options in their particular case, which resulted into incease of successfully closed sales deals and clients’ satisfaction growth.
